What are the possibilities of asking my I.T Dept in work to sell me an old laptop, does this work?
Has nayone else done this?

It all depends on their policy of selling on old units, some companies will but some do not as they are assets.

I don't know where you work, but NHS Trusts (and many other public bodies) are not allowed to sell them, even if they have not been used.

I know of one Trust that had to dispose of £300,000 worth of equipment that had never been used. Crazy.
    Gone ... or have I?
