Maternity query

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help.
I'm due to go on maternity leave in October, and by December I will drop down from £1137 a month (after tax) to £700, and then less for the next following months (approx £550-600 a month)

My fianc! earns £20k, and my normal wages are £17k.

Can anyone shed on any light if I will be eligible for child tax credits when I drop down to the £700 and less months? Or do they base it as if you were in your full salary, even though it will be pretty much half?

Hi, yes first child. I only plan to be off work 6-9 months but drop down after 2 months of full pay
