Hi. Ive bought a second hand sky HD box. Before this I was using the old white box. I'm having trouble with the magic eye in the second room and also the second hand HD box will not record programmes that I want to record when I'm out. It only records programmes when I press the record button when the sky box and TV are on and I'm watching it. I have a reduced sky payment package as im a long term customer. Firstly I'm asking as my sky viewing card does work (I have no extra channels but just the basic ones), is it my sky viewing card thats the problem. I have no idea whether the previous owner still has the same account and therefore the box is still registered to his sky viewing card or whether its another problem. Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you recommission the new box and pair it with your viewing card?

Try rebuilding the sky planner, it's got the old persons stuff on it

If it records it must be a Sky+HD Digibox and not simply Sky HD. What's the make and model number on the label?
Do a full "System Reset" (erases the Hard Drive) in the Installer Setup menu.
Then select "New Installation".0 -

FWIW You do have twin satellite feeds to the box?
and / or have you ensured the box is not set to single feed mode, on remote press:
services > 0,0,1 > select >
scroll down thuis menu to 'single feed mode' and ensure it is set to 'off'
(that is of course assuming that you do have 2 feeds into the box as suggested above).0
