Help with first time utilities - beating price
Hi,
i am just about to move into a flat, and am not sure how to gauge what is a good quote. I have no experience with utilities as i live with parents, so am i still able to use these price busting / beating / switching sites if i have nothing to switch? The flat is a new build, so i'm not sure how i will work out if i will be saving money as i can't quote the companies what i am paying at the moment

'Quotes' from electricity companies and comparison sites are meaningless as they will quote you low enough to get your custom; and you will end up with a debit balance that you will have to pay off.
In any case never quote to companies/comparison sites what you are paying as they will just give you a lower quote - all they are interested in is getting their commission for you as a new customer.
Just 'invent' a figure in kWh for the comparison sites.
You will initially have to use whatever the developers have had connected to your flat.
You don't say what sort of heating you have - gas or electric?0
