Semi Skimmed Milk-watered down?
I have noticed that this milk is now quite watery and needs more just to colour my tea, and I need to add more than usual to my mashed potatoes,it is the same from Tesco as it is from Aldi, this is just since the price war on milk started.
Is it the dairy or the supermarkets that brought this about?
I know I am not the only one that has noticed this as it has been posted on here but I cannot find the thread.

Cant say I've noticed it, been using same amount of milk for tea and cereals for ages but then I get mine mainly from Sainsburys or Morrisons.0

Why dont you buy full fat milk and put some water into it, water it down yourself? This way you can have it as (un)watery as you want and it makes the milk go further for the same price.0

Not had a problem at all.0

Perhaps someone in your house is having lovely creamy top-of-the-milk for breakfast, leaving virtually skimmed in the bottle?
Note - This ould not apply to homogenised milk, which has the fat evenly distributed throughout.Whoops there goes another year, there goes another pint of :beer:0 -

That'd be perfect for me, as anything but skimmed makes me really ill
Just asked OH (who drinks semi), and she hasn't noticed any difference.💙💛 💔0 -
How bizarre! My DH and I were just saying that the semi-skimmed milk I bought from Morries seems to be watery. He thought it was a previously frozen one we had defrosted and not shaken properly but it was fresh.0

Would Calories per 100ml be a way of comparing them to see if any were 'watered down' ?
I have two in my fridge
Ocado 49
Tesco 500 -
Perhaps it's the quality of the grass the Cows eat ? Affecting the visual appearance of the milk.
Legally it Must contain regulated milk content. :beer:There are more questions than answers :shhh: :silenced:WARNING ! May go silent for unfriendly repliesPlease excuse me Spell it MOST times:A UK Resident :A0 -

The 1kcal is to close. That can be down to the natural variation and one customer rounding up and another rounding down when working out nutritional even if they had both been given figures of 49.5kcal.0 -
If they are adding water, they would have to be declaring it or they are breaking the law.
As money mate says. Its probably down to the grass the cows are eating.0
