Premier Parking Solutions Appeal

Hi

This is on the NEWBIE FAQ

- If no time to 'dig out flaws' in paperwork, just use our appeal example unless your PCN was from:
'Devere' (Bournemouth usually, e.g. at Castlepoint)
'District Enforcement' (Staffordshire University etc.)
'Secure -a-Space'
'Napier'
'UKCPM'
'Combined Parking Solutions' (astonishingly now pursuing families at Fantasy Island, Skegness, and normal POPLA appeals won't work)
or
'Premier Parking Solutions' (especially re a flipped ticket at Hull Docks where you must word your POPLA appeal very carefully)

If so, please start a thread with a picture of the sign on site and don't respond to private messages offering 'help'.

I have sent my appeal to PPS I am expecting to have to go to POPLA and wondered why the standard appeal template was not suitable ??

Many thanks if someone can explain

Claire

With PPS it can depend on whether it is a station car park or not as they issue hybrid PCNs which are pretending to be penalty charges under byelaws. If this is the case you won't get offered POPLA, even though you should.

And I believe their paper work is not always compliant so this can give you extra things to mention if you do get a POPLA code.

Do a search for recent PPS threads and you will see the sort of things they come up with.

Come back if you get a rejection for help. And in the meanwhile keep all paperwork.

Because people have lost against PPS as they have written a new GPEOL statement after the event.

Didcot car park opposite the railway? There's an appeal I wrote the other week for there. Easily found by searching this forum for 'Didcot' and reading the thread by xxdaix. I will NOT link it as I encourage all newbies to learn how to search the forum as that's how you can use the forum (any forum) to its best potential. In your case as you are a fairly regular MSE poster I'm guessing you know how to search this parking sub-forum (not the whole MSE forums) for 'Didcot' as a keyword anyway.

Hull Docks? Again search the forum for those keywords. Read the recent threads about that place and POPLA appeals, such as 'B1rdie's case which was LOST at POPLA but he/she was neither the driver nor the keeper anyway, LOL! Loads has been learnt about PPS' shiny 'new' GPEOL statement (which is in fact a post estimate of actual loss in one case - not the same thing at all). We know what the original intention was, as PPS are on record as stating something completely different to POPLA a few months ago.

Another car park? Please tell us which and search this forum for any previous POPLA case and what PPS said was the calculation of their estimate of 'loss'.

When you get to POPLA stage and are drafting a POPLA appeal v this lot, show it to us and we'll help make it as strong as possible, to show POPLA that in fact whatever PPS say was the GPEOL is no such thing as the original intentions of the charge were a contractual fee.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi

How long should I wait for a response to my 'soft appeal' to PPS ? Obviously I want them to contravene any regulations that they are supposed to abide by as it will give me ammunition but also I don't want to find myself fighting for a POPLA code ..

    This is their email acknowledgement

Please note that receipt of your appeal is acknowledged and is being processed. Appeals against a parking charge may take up to 14 days to progress but in any case you will receive a reply to your appeal within 35 days.

    The ticket states

Allow 14 working days for a response

    Their website states

Our Appeals Department will respond in writing or by email within 14 days with a decision.

    and

Once your appeal is received we will contact you within 14 days, should you wish to contact us about an appeal, you are advised not to do so until 14 days have passed.

    I am over 14 days - shall I leave it for 35 days ?

    Thanks for suggestions

    Claire

I think you've answered your own question in your post with the bits in bold.
