guys,

I have my own domain name with a little webspace. I've just learnt to FTP my html pages, which means I can then see my pages such as https://www.domainname.com/home if I had called the html page home.html before uploading.

My question is - how do I upload something unto the very main page (i.e. https://www.domainname.com) since I can't just create a page and save it with a blank name.

Hope this makes sense!

I think the initial page needs to be called index.html

yep your front page must be called index.html. Once you do that as soon as you hit your domain (without any /home etc referrences) you will see your page.

While coding the site you should always use your index.html as your anchor page and have all pages referenced from that. Makes navigation easier and helps with coding. You can use your index page as a template for all others if you like. What coding tool are you using? I can recommed Dreamweaver very highly, helped me code up this site even though I have very little HTML knowledge other than what I have learnt online.
