  • Hi everyone, can I join in? :). I love Christmas!

I've had the last few days off work and with a lovely empty house ( Dh at work and Ds at nursery). I've really enjoyed reading this thread, I am soooo Christmassy I can't tell you and this weather change isn't making it any better!

I've picked up some fab ideas on here so far, we're currently moving house, so once we're settled in I can start putting my planning into practice! Trying to do mainly homemade, and my Ds (3) will love to help, Il be 8 months pregnant at Christmas too so I aim to be done ( apart from baking etc) way before then so I can rest and enjoy lazy hot choc / Christmas movie filled days with my family, Ooh I'm so excited!! :j
Living as simply as we can

  • I'm feeling really christmassy too Pookie-Lou!

I'm feeling rather short on ideas this year though. I did hampers last year and although everyone said the right things about how they appreciated them and they could see the thought that went into them etc but i got the impression they were unimpressed so i'm not sure whether i want to put that much effort in again.

In my family no one ever asks for what they want and i am hopeless at guessing (which is why the i thought the hampers would work as there were several items). I thought of giving cash or vouchers but i'd end up the black sheep of the family for that! Help!!!

My uncle really loved the tea hamper i made him last year but i'm not sure of a new way to revamp the idea (so i'm not just giving him exactly the same gift twice) any ideas would be appreciated?

I have been buying for months now but unless I put the items in the loft, I find that I can't resist giving the toys etc. to my 3 grandchildren when they come and visit. I know it is silly and that I will have to continue bargain hunting but that is just how it is with me.

In the John Lewis sale, I bought 2 pairs of Spiderman sunglasses plus cases for my grandsons and a lovely flowery pair of sunglasses plus a case for my granddaughter. They were here today, the sun was shining and out they came. They go back to school tomorrow and I just thought I would spoil them a little.

Now I have to go to my Christmas present App and remove those items.

Oh well, it was worth it to see their little faces.
  • I know what you mean whitesatin i do the same with my sister but she is 23 years old!!! I just like to treat people to presents :)

What christmas present app do you use? I'm still using excel spreadsheets to keep track of all my xmas spending and it is clunky at best!

It's called Xmas Organizer and I have used it for a couple of years now. I just keep it on my phone and add to it all year round. I keep my version simple but I think you can customise it.
