Child Tax Credit paid early

Hi,
Our Child Tax Credit was paid Friday 1st Aug, normally it appears in the bank account on Monday.
Would this be an extra payment due to a recent Tax Credit renewal or due to a non English bank holiday taking place somewhere (I've read this can effect all payment dates).
Thank you for any help.
