Short licence
I've just renewed my photocard (which was returned to me just over five weeks later - 16 days after my old one expired - despite going to the Post Office). Bearing in mind I'm 36 and nothing has changed on the licence, DVLA have only given me a card valid for 5 years - expiring 29/07/2019.
Initially, I assumed it was in relation to having a class 2 hgv on there, but that is valid until 16/10/2022.
As I won't be able to speak to the DVLA until Monday, I wondered if anyone might have any thoughts on why this might be?

The last licence expired 14/07/14. That was valid for 7 years due to having added catagories.
I went to the PO on 25/06 thinking I get my new one back faster that way. When I hadn't had it back a couple of days after my last one expired, I rang the DVLA to enquire and was given some gubbins about them having to extra checks because of my cat C entitlement! Absolute rubbish but still doesn't explain the short lifespan of the new one.0
