Seek legal advice. They will be able to tell you how a settlement may work with regards to any interest he has in the property and how the debts will be apportioned when calculating this.
Does he have sufficient income to mount a potentially protracted legal challenge?
As a joint owner, he can scupper any sale by not signing the paperwork and then you'd have to get a court order to force the sale.
Post your debt issues on the Debt Free wanabee forum.
Post your child support issues on that board. You should expect 25% of his gross income towards the children if they are under 18.
It is possible for a parent with care of children to get an occupation order that gives them the right to live in the family home until their youngest turns 18 - is it a feasible option not to sell but to stay?0
