File / Directory wont delete - please help

After a Problem with my PC, I reinstalled XP. I have two hard drives, C: & 
I re-covered my my data, photos, letters etc from external hard drive onto d:
I copied the "my Documents" directory from the external hard drive onto
, then sorted all the files out, which left d:mydocuments empty.
Now I want to delete it and it wont. Tried changing properites and files such as unlocker but no good.
It just wont delete, any advise please

tried as you suggested, but no good, keeps coming up with message
"my documents is not acceesible, access denied" - changing properties keeps resetting back to read only

change the item to list in views and reboot and them you should beable
to delete itthere or their,one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -

Also, if you click Start, right-click My Documents then click Properties is the Target folder correct?0 -
targetis right, says c:my docs etc, but the directory I want to delete is d: my docs.
Cant boot is safe mode for some reason, when trying, PC freezes loading .mup.sys
any help woujld be appreciated:beer:0
