If ive transferred isa to Halifax can i put new contributions elsewhere?

Hello
I transferred previous years isas into Halifax in 2014 tax year-
But i now want to aff 15k cash into an isa
Does it have to be the halifax one?
Does transferring previous years contributions count as opening a new isa.

Do you mean 2013-14 tax year?

Provided that you haven't subscribed to the Halifax Isa/ any other ISA in the current tax year (6 4 14 - 5 4 15), you can contribute up to a total of £15000 to your ISA.

If the Halifax ISA only contains money paid into previous years' ISAs and then transferred (and you haven't made any new contributions since 6 April 2014), then you are free to pay your £15K 2014-15 allowance into any ISA, i.e. you're not restricted to the Halifax one.

Are you sure you want to pay £15k into a cash ISA now?

You can get much better rates of interest in various current accounts, then if you still want to, you can put your £15k into an ISA towards the end of March
