Southend Airport

Well, the station is specifically for the airport so, if this happens on a regular basis, maybe it should be the airport talking to the railway company for the benefit of their own customers.had a think about this and really you should post it in the public transport section of mse as the issue isn't with the airport its with the train company.0 -
but it wouldn't really be in the train companies interest to change timetables to suit an airports customers.
consider this i was working at stansted airport last night and the last train is just gone 12:30 yet the last flight was just gone 03:00 so should there be trains waiting for all flights, especially delayed flights?
as previously mentioned there is a bus service into london from sen and really its up to the travelling public to ensure there will be adequate transport where ever they are going.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
A train at 11.00, and National Express even later? You are well served: Exeter airport (the Flybe hub) has no public transport in the evening.0

Firstly sorry you didn't check your arrangements at least that was a lesson learned for future
Here is a page on Southend Airports own page highlighting this very issue

As you say the airport is hugely convenient to travel via as very quick check in and clearance times when arriving normally
You can also use the Aer Lingus regional service to effectively pre clear US customs and fly to anywhere in US from our very local Southend
I am sure if and when Greater Anglian re do their next years time tables they may well incorporate slightly later trains to accomodate the newer flights that are ever growing at this airport0 -
Thanks for all the feedback.
Clearly all my fault and guilty as charged.
The lesson I have learnt is not to assume anything.0 -

Abellio Greater Anglia couldn't arrange a cocktail party in a brewery so don't hold your breath.
The last train out of Dodge City (Southend) is ridiculously early meaning that if you want to go out to eat or the cinema in the evening, you have to drive. I stopped taking the train in after having to leave a movie 20 minutes before the end to catch the last train home (I live four stops in from Southend).
Interestingly, the last train going from Liverpool Street to Southend Victoria is 00:45."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
Or drive in leave car or get train in and get cab back if you want to have a drink - what I used to do when I lived in Hockley
Always been an early last train back out of Southend Vic for years sadly0 -

The fact they don't do something doesn't mean they can't do it. The reason they don't have later trains is because they don't want to pay to operate an entire train for the dozen people who would use it. If customer demand was there, it would run.0 -
Used Southend a couple of times, its quick and easy (not as good as Norwich although you wouldnt get a train from there as there is no station, lol) but I have only ever used a car.
If I was reliant on the train i would check the times beforehand0
