Hi,
Can anyone please tell me the opening times for the citizens advice national line: 08444 111 444?
I can't find them anywhere and when I've tried ringing today I get a message saying there is no one available to take my call, so it's not clear if they're even open today.
Thanks.

Hi,
Can anyone please tell me the opening times for the citizens advice national line: 08444 111 445?

According to this

the national phone line is not available in all areas.
Can you not use your local CAB help line? Information on my link.0 -
Thanks pmlindyloo, that’s where I got the number from in the first place. I am hoping that the national line’s opening times are more convenient for me.
The message that I got when I called them makes me think it is available in my area, South Yorkshire, though I will happily be corrected; I just want to know if it’s worth my time and expense to keep trying to get through to them today!0 -

If you can't get through then I suggest you email your local CAB with your query if you can't find a time to telephone them.0 -

I get delivery failure notifications when I try to email them. I can’t get through to anyone on my local branches phone number either.
The national line number appears to be the same one given for Derby citizens advice bureau, so I guess it has the same opening times as that: 10.00-16.00 weekdays, except Wednesdays when it’s open 10.00-19.00. But if anyone could confirm that for future reference that would be great!0 -
Not all CAB have signed up to the national line so that is proably why it says no one to answer it recognises landline area codes and if you're on a mobile it will ask you for a landline number. However I know the average waiting times on the national number is 8 min so holding on could be worth it. They can only give initial advice on the phone so you may find you need to visit them. Most CABx don't have home visiting but may do offer late evening sessions. Have a look at their website or search the national CAB website and click on find my nearest bureau. It will give you all the phone numbers and opening times.
Really sorry but funding is so restricted its difficult for everyone to access. Good luckSave £12k in 25 No 49

Thanks TallGirl but I think I’ve exhausted all the ways to contact my local branch. I get the same message when I ring them as when I call the national helpline. I'll try ringing the national line and holding on for longer.
I appreciate that they’re stretched due to funding. I just find it a bit bizarre that the national lines opening hours aren’t readily available, especially when it’s an 0844 number.0 -
Many CABs have a very limited telephone service and cannot take emails as they would be overwhelmed. Often the main service is via a face to face drop in. Each CAB organises things slightly differently, so its best to google your local bureau and see what their approach is.0
