MBNA Balance Transfer limited by application?

Hello all, a quick (and possibly naive question).
Last week I took MSE advice and applied for the MBNA credit card. During the application I asked for £1100 money transfer (my overdraft)
And £800 credit card balance transfer.
I have been approved and given a £3000 limit.
Now my laptop is playing up and I can't be without. Can I purchase a new one on my current credit card and do an additional balance transfer to the MBNA card, or am I restricted to the amounts in my application? I know that MBNA says you can transfer 95% of the credit limit, but I really don't want to make a costly mistake if my application somehow eclipses that.
Many thanks for any advice!

To clarify, when I say 'MBNA says' I mean their website FAQ page.

    Yes and No.

That said, as you were living in your overdraft, I have a feeling that you are building you CC balance up without a clear plan of paying it off before 0% expires and high interest rate kicks in. MSE advise was to help you to clear your debts, not to rack them up.

    Hi Grumbler,
Thanks for taking time to respond. Can I ask you to give a little more detail on 'yes and no'. Do you mean you wouldn't recommend my doing do as it is a further expense, or that there is something prohibitive from the credit card supplier?
    Many thanks again!

Yes, you can purchase on your old credit card and do an additional balance transfer to the MBNA card.
No, you are not restricted to the amounts in your application.

You can get a good laptop for £400-£500 so you could definitely fit that in under your current limit.

As to whether you can afford to, that's down to you.

With other cards, you need to actually owe another credit card money, so you have a balance to transfer. With MBNA, I pay the 2% Fee, and transfer the maximum amount to my current account, and do whatever I want with it. None of that faffing around.
