Barclays Account Fee...Claim back?

Morning guys,

I had one of those lovely irritating PPI calls telling me i'd had an accident etc etc. Once we'd got all that out the way, she mentioned something quite interesting. She told me you could now claim back from banks for accounts you'd paid additional fee's on (for £6.50 a month you get mobile phone cover, white goods cover etc etc) If you hadnt used them and because the terms and conditions in their cover make them pretty much useless.

I obviously didn't go through them (who wants to pay a ridiculous fee for something you can do yourself?!) Does anyone have a template or know if this is correct?

We've been paying a fee on our account and haven't used any of the services...having since read the T&C's we'v found them to be a bit crap.

I have a packaged account - travel insurance I have used this in last 12 months, roadside assistance - I have used this once in last 12 months.


Having this with my bank account means I do not have to purchase them elsewhere - so if you haven't used them did you purchase alternative cover?


If you had alternative cover you may well have a case for a refund but IMO not using when they are there is not a missale.
