UKPC "fine" and estate agency

Firstly, the PPC is more likely to bring a court case if they have a PoPLA "win" on the table.
Yep but that's a rare as hen's teeth!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This forum has a narrow agenda, and in the pursuit of that agenda is extremely selective about the information it gives and extremely intolerant of dissenting voices.
Indeed. In my opinion there is far more merit in trying to help someone get their own back after an insult from a parking company for parking in their own space than get a chancer who dodged a P&D charge off a deserved parking charge, or parked in a BB place because it was closer to where they wanted to go.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

I agree that there should be a narrow agenda on a Moneysaving forum - to save the OP from paying the charges and avoiding even larger costs. You have widened that to "getting their own back after an insult from a parking company..."
Now I have no problem with the latter whatsoever............as long as it does not put the initial objective at more risk or if the motorist wants to become militant and a campaigner.
I am in favour of campaigners and, if you and Baz were taking the PPC on yourselves with your own money at risk, I would be rooting for you and cheering as loud as everyone else.
On Bazter's point about taking a PPC to POPLA when the PPC has no history of court which you supported/thanked, then I would have thought that costing them £27 plus time would have fitted neatly into getting your own back rather than it costing them nothing by ignoring their debt collector letters.0 -
How can I take the PPCs on, I do not own a property on which one operates. It needs an owner/occupier or a very bolshie tenant, strongly supported by the landlord.
Only by pointing out to them their rights can anything be achieved, a win at Popla is of little significance against the insults PPCs are perpetrating. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Pick battles you can fight for yourself? Let others choose their own? Be Richard the Lionheart and lead from the front, not George W Bush pushing others out there instead? Guys Dad has the right view, provide all the information, and let others make the choice they want to, at their own risk.0 -
I thought I'd give you an update on how things are going...
So the lettings agency got me my parking permit (that doesn't even stick to the windscreen so it increases the chances of "getting fined")in 3-4 days after the incident.
I've given them enough time to give me an answer about who's paying the fine. I told them that they didn't deliver what I paid for in advance and that having this company managing the parking space was in breach of our contract as per my right of quiet enjoyment of the property.
I'll let them know today that I'll be visiting the Citizen's Advice Bureau on Monday and writing an email to The Property Ombdusman straightaway.
I just can't see how am I supposed to be going through all the pain of challenging the fake fine, so if I have to do it myself I'll seek compensation from the agency or the landlord as they've failed to provide me with the parking space I've been paying for (not to talk about the distress).
As far as I know the NTK didn't arrive yet...

I wouldn't hold your breath with the CAB. I am not saying they don't do great work, but having handle on the finer points of parking regulations are probably beyond most volunteer advisors. They generally have to deal with more "pressing issues" for people like eviction etc. Whilst this is a pain for you to deal with and needless stress, I don't think you will get much real help there and are probably getting more knowledgeable advice here from our regulars.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Please don't waste your time - that would be much more 'painful' than the simple appeal to win this! Also why would anyone bother to actually go to the CAB when this is the article and guidance their volunteers should be following, you can just read it and save your shoe leather and avoid the distinct possibility of duff advice from the person's own 'views'!I'll be visiting the Citizen's Advice Bureau on Monday
http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/consumer_e/consumer_cars_and_other_vehicles_e/consumer_driving_and_parking_e/consumer_parking_tickets_e/consumer_parking_tickets_on_private_land_e.htm
Also according to one source, it seems the CAB's wayward advice just indirectly (perhaps) caused a person to LOSE in court as they allegedly provided the template for the pig's ear of her initial defence against PE (who sue people, unlike your PPC), look, even bargepole couldn't turn it around:

The one or two stage appeal isn't stressful (it's easy!). Look at all the UKPC cases dropped without even needing POPLA, as soon as they see the forum template!

Step away from the CAB and trust the template appeal I wrote in the NEWBIES thread!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hey,
I didn't explain myself clearly. I'm visiting the CAB and filing a complaint with The Property Ombdusman because the estate agency didn't provide what was agreed in the tenancy contract and they're now taking the !!!! by ignoring my communications.
I don't want them to think they can just ignore me and don't address my concerns with their poorly provided service.
As per the UKPC I'm awaiting the NTK to start the process as described on the forum
Thank you all!0
