Has anyone organised a charity treasure hunt?

Hi guys,

as everyone here is a source of knowledge I thought I would ask your advice!

I have been thinking of ways to raise money for the national autistic society as my friends daughter has been diagnosed this week with autism. I would really like to take part in the trek the inca trail next year and will have to raise around £3000, obviously Ill will pay a large proportion of this as it is at the end of the day a once in a life time trip for myself!

it was suggested to me to arrange a treasure hunt (either on foot or by car) and was wondering if anyone here had any experience of organising one?

was toying with the idea of one on foot around my local city ending in a pub (to make it more appealing for participants!!) and charging around £5 per group (groups of around 4) would this be an acceptable entry price?. Also need ideas of prizes, hope someone here can give me a little advice.

also if you have any other ideas of fundraising they would be greatly appriciated, thanks in advance

sorry for all the questions
fdf :)
finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!

  • This sounds like something that would work well, I don't have any experience of arranging one myself but I know a local village hall arranged a couple last year that were very popular. It was one with a car & you had to drive around collecting different objects from different places. I know they had a meal for four as the prize, that most like got donated by the pub in question, but not sure how the winner was judge.

It would be good to know how you get on!
