Sensationalised headline: "Tesco compare shutting down, how does it effect you?"
    Answer: it doesn't

Not really a story here, is there?

The headline is a fact, so isn't really very sensationalised.

But it isn't very newsworthy and won't affect anybody. This sentence in particular caught my eye for it's perfect logic:
As it's decided to stop trading we've removed links to Tesco Compare from MoneySavingExpert.com.

    :)
  • Its good news for shareholders anyway. At last Tesco seem willing to admit defeat and move on

According to the link it will.

If you've bought policies via Tesco Compare, you won't have to take any action as your policies will remain in place. This includes those with Tesco-branded policies.

But you won't receive any renewal notices – so contact your insurer directly to check how long you have left on your policy, diarise it, and search for a better deal when you're coming up to renewal. This also applies to Tesco-branded policies.

I would be surprised if that is correct. Surely the insurer will issue a renewal notice?
