I wonder if anyone can help with this query..
Today we received a cheque from Barclays re mis sold PPI for £7200 wow!!
I really don't understand all the calculations etc. but there has been 20% tax already deducted £273.99... £164.86 and £31.16, but the one question I cant seem to find an answer to is...
We claim Working Tax Credit, full time work minimum pay..Is the whole £7200 the figure we need to inform them or just the tax totals taken?
Totally confused thanks for any help x

You inform them of the interest payment only. (the 20%). Not the rest as that is a refund and not earnings. The interest is earnings.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I was using it to indicate which bit. However, yes, it does look silly how i wrote it. Although understood which is the important bit. i.e. the interest only.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
