Nationwide & Credit Card Offerings

I dunno about you guys...
but everytime I visit Nationwide (to pay money in or something), they offer me upgrade of account or credit card.

I know I have a bad credit score / rating. But Are they offering me this because I am already pre-approved or just because they are trying to hit a sales target?

Anybody know? Cos I would like C Card, but just avoid - the embarrassment and further credit rejections.

Have they already carried out your transaction? IE have they swiped your card when they tell you this?

I would be tempted to say Yes, but I have to be honest, Nationwide are usually pretty hard to get anything other than a cash account with below good credit.

The best thing you can first do is try and get their CC quote and see the rate and limit you will be offered, that will give you an idea.

Alternatively, you can ask them next time you visit branch to know if you are pre approved or not.

I went into a branch and had the same thing. I had a Nationwide Flex account which I had only had for a couple of months. I had 2 defaults on my credit file when they offered me the credit card. I was suprised I was accepted, the woman i spoke with said you have a better chance of acceptance if you transfer your account from another bank using the switch facility online (which is what I did).
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life,as long as I die next Tuesday.
