DLA Change of Circumstances - Success

Firstly I understand this maybe in the wrong forum. However, as it's benefit related I *think* I'm right.

Three weeks ago I submitted a change of circumstances to DLA regarding my care needs. I was already on Higher Mobility.

Today I received a letter (only three weeks after submitting the change) that I have been awarded HRM and Middle Care.

When filling out the form I used massive amounts of information on each question and submitted over 50 pieces of medical evidence.

Given that there are so many delays with the DWP at present I am astonished I was awarded the benefit so quick. I can only assume this was due to me explaining everything fully and supplying so much evidence.

From this I think it's imperative when completing DWP forms you MUST satisfy each question with as much information as possible. Have medical evidence is a must too. I know this from being awarded ESA without a medical.

Just thought I'd pass this on, as it may help fellow MSE forum users obtain what they deserve.

its worth remembering that in many areas, a DLA reconsideration will result in an application for PIP.
so each individual needs to consider which is their best option

We recently had a renewal form for DLA (I was expecting PIP but it wasn't).

Filled in the form sent the original evidence (just one Docs letter) with another letter from the Doc to say nothing had changed.

It took two weeks for them to write backing saying it was renewed. I was amazed, it took 7 months for the ESA to be renewed. Both were without a medical

Giving full answers is definitely a good idea, sending 50 pieces of evidence not so much. Best to just send the reports etc that are directly relevant, the DM needs to be able to find the relevant facts easily, not have to search through lots of papers.

Sorry to hear your condition has worsened :(

    Thanks:)

The medical evidence were just medical reports, appointment letters and social service assessment reports from the last twelve months. As well as surgery reports. :)
