Tesco Direct delays - blame clubcard boost

Usually get good service from Tesco Direct, but have been informed by their customer services they have delivery problems which they put down to high demand from people wishing to boost vouchers on the Tesco Direct website.
My order was for click and collect instore and they've not mentioned if they have issues for delivery to home addresses.
I've not received any written news about the delay and was assured it would be a 24 hour delay. Having still not received a confirmation today and goods marked as not dispatched on my account, I guess it will be a waiting game to see if it eventually arrives in store for me to collect by 4pm today.
So if you want your goods in a hurry, I'm not convinced it's going to happen with Tesco Direct at the moment.
Update:
Had online chat with Tesco Direct as still no email from them. They were apologetic and friendly so can't fault them on that score, but say its out of their control.
When asked if clubcard boost causing the issues here was the response:
"Yes the clubcard boost has generated a higherthan expected amount of orders which has caused them to be delayed leaving ourwarehouse.
I am sorry there has been a delay with our itemscoming from the warehouse due to the higher than normal amount of order we havereceived."

Former MSE user - I don't post on MSE anymore, or respond to PMs. I would like to be able to officially set profile to "former user" which would be helpful as it seems you can never leave MSE - just choose not to use it!

Yesterday at around 14.00 ordered an item from Tesco Direct using Clubcard Boost for Click and Collect. E-mail this morning at 11.15, item ready for collection and we collected a few hours ago.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I smiled when I read this.So it's not affecting all Click and Collect orders then? Naughty Tesco are leading me to believe its a blanket delay. I ordered on Wednesday so its well overdue now.
Anyway, thanks for posting and its good to know some people are getting their stuff without a hitch.Former MSE user - I don't post on MSE anymore, or respond to PMs. I would like to be able to officially set profile to "former user" which would be helpful as it seems you can never leave MSE - just choose not to use it!0 -
Maybe it depends on the item. My toys arrived ok, beauty gift sets a few days later despite being on same order. Emails were a bit confusing as it kept saying dispatched but my store didn't have them.
I'm not surprised they've been slammed though as doubling points and selling items on sale will attract lots of people.0 -
Thanks and you might be right. Got an email today showing dispatched today which is progress and can track the package in my account. I will try the store later today if I get the magic delivered email.Former MSE user - I don't post on MSE anymore, or respond to PMs. I would like to be able to officially set profile to "former user" which would be helpful as it seems you can never leave MSE - just choose not to use it!0

I have two on the go - first one was due in store yesterday but was only dispatched yesterday and is still showing as in transit with yodel, second one dispatched yesterday but tracking showing its not even been collected by yodel yet so I give up! Have called them with no luck so awaiting a response on their facebook page (also emailed) - both due into my local tesco express.0

I ordered from Tesco Direct on Sunday. It was due to arrive in my local store on Tuesday. I got an email on Monday saying it had been dispatched. I still await its arrival.
It is a suitcase I ordered on my sister's behalf. She goes on holiday on Monday, so I hope it arrives before then!0 -
I had a problm with delays the other week. I ordered some stuff on a Tuesday, for collection Wednesday and Wednesday morning got an email saying it would be delayed. I popped in store on th Thursday to see if they might be in and they were but I'd had no email to say so. I collect the items, roll on to Monday and I get the email to say they're in store ready to collect.....0

I ordered some items the day they started promotion as was worried I wouldn't get them if let it. Hubby wasn't happy me starting Christmas shopping so early but I knew delays and out of sticks would be likely. I hope you all get you orders soonHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0
