Is this fair?

Options
I started to see my daughter on Saturdays and told work I may not be able to work Saturdays anymore due to this. My manager said well If you want Saturdays off then you will have to work Fridays and Sundays every week.

I don't think this is fair and that I should have to work every Friday and Sunday just to see my daughter.

Can I do anything here?

Cheers

I am contracted to work Monday to Sunday. But I have to work every Friday and Sunday just so I can see my daughter. If for one reason I cant work one Friday my manager said he would not allow me to have Saturdays off anymore

I would think one of the first things to do would be to get your contract if you have one and look at it in detail about hours and days required to work etc.
Seems to me a wee bit Dickensonian "is that right" if you cant get a day off.

I am not contracted to work any certain days just any day they put me on.

But what I am asking is it fair to say you must work Friday and Sunday or you will not see your daughter.

Has your employer stated why you would have to work these days as opposed to say an extra midweek day.

    Are you in retail?

Sounds to me like your hours are set according to the needs of the business, and as their business peaks at the weekends, this is why they have stated you must work these days.

If you are in retail, then to be honest you are very lucky to be allowed every Saturday off.
    Gone ... or have I?
