Birmingham Airport Car parks Renamed Con

I got this email today as I have a booking for the onsite NCP...

We're committed to improving your experience at Birmingham Airport. We've listened to your feedback and we'll be changing the names of our car parks.

Work will take place tonight, so by tomorrow all of the new names will be in place.

We believe this change will make it easier for you to select a car park that suits your needs regardless of how long you'll be away.

What's changed?

Of course this makes no sense at all despite their claims its our idea!

The cynical might even suggest its a profitable attempt to cause confusion between the cheaper long stay and vastly more expensive shorter stay car parks, so some unsuspecting people on their return might find themselves with astronomical bills. But that would be despicable, can't think why else you would want to NOT call them short or long stay specifically any more?

You would need to see how they present them on their own website to see if your cynical views are true. Some third party booking sites will capitalise on it without a doubt and probably they generated some of the "views"

Having been with friends at Heathrow and they've said they've booked parking in "car park 1" without remembering if it was Short Stay, Business or Long Stay I can certainly say that there are some people who will appreciate there not being 3 car parks called "1"

I am assuming they are after the more naive that don't pre book or shop around.

I understand what your saying but surely knowing its long or short stay is more important than having two 1's. They could have renumbered and kept the descriptions too.

Having Short Stay 1, Short Stay 2, Long Stay 3 would probably make some people wonder what happened to Long Stay 1 & 2.

I would give benefit of the doubt until seeing how its actually presented on the ground and on the website.

I'm just intrigued as to where car park 4 is.

I have booked and will be on Car Park 5 this year. When booking again I will read the description of what I am booking and compare the prices as I would for anything. You can't base all changes around what the inept may or may not do.
