Hello!
Being aware of your inner critic is the first challenge, when it says you failed today think of at least one reason you may not have, notice and challenge that nasty critic and as Pauline said 'what would you say to a friend who said that to you?' I bet you would have loads of great stuff to say about them! Perhaps use this diary to write down what the critic says and challenge it, seeing it written may help!
Really good luck on this journey, you have the first big important step and making small manageable goals is the best thing, and remember every little helps!

Long term achievements and goals are my main focus. Focusing on £8100 of debt - the total amount which includes everything - it's a big figure but I am and will get rid of it! I pay certain amounts each month anyway, but I am not going to concentrate on that coming off the overall figure - any extra I make I will deduct from the total figure then in 3 months have an update of the current total!
So where am going to start - selling all my unwanted and unused things! Try to do overtime when I can! Reduce my monthly shopping bill! Reduce any bills I can! Reduce the amount of petrol I use! Reduce the going out and meeting in coffee shops! Reduce the amount of snacks I consume as I not only consume my snacks but I tend to consume the whole house holds! Reduce the amount of food waste! Reduce the amount we spend on meals out! Reduce the amount of pop and water 'small convenience' bottles I buy! Reduce the amount of cleaning products I use! Ok change most things.
Any savings/earnings I make on top of my current wage I will save everything up to the end of the month then that will go towards the debt off the total amount!14 months to gain control of life

That's a great challenge - I have had a pretty unproductive awful week, have not done much so maybe I should start there! I have slagged myself off to myself and really put myself down.

The critic says I have been lazy unproductive useless fat (yes I gave over eaten rubbish this week as I have not done anything and thought I would add that) and basically let my diary down, let my gaining control down, letting my dd down, letting myself down. Everything I said I was going to achieve I haven't!
So I'm going to challenge the critic by saying - bog off! I had annual leave and quiet frankly had no motivation because I was overly tired. Yes meeting up with the girls probably wasn't the greatest idea but hey I have woken up with a doing mind on and that's what I shall do this weekend - do! Ok I agree I have let lots down but also this is all new and quiet overwhelming for me. It's not going to happen over night but as long as it's a working progress what's your problem!14 months to gain control of life

Positive post - I'm doing and not just chilling. It's a slow process but it's happening! Having a day in doors bank holiday Monday with lots of yummy food from stores and things to be cracking on with!
I have my very first item on ebay being bid on, what a lovely feeling! The road to de cluttering and making some money has begun!
New week and new attitude - back to work later on in week so need to make the most of my days off and now I have an item being bid on it's making me even more determined to list list list! It does take a long time though doesn't it!
Been cooking lots of meals from scratch and the extra that I am making I am putting in fridge for next day or putting in freezer. I was looking in my cupboards yesterday and actually it's shocking how much 'store cupboard' bits I actually do have! So I would like to have a good look and meal plan for the week ahead around the bits I have? I have today's meals sorted so it will just be the rest of the weeks meal plan which I also want to include what needs to be done and anything I have planned just so I know where we are really with the week. I need to be more organised if I am going to get anywhere with this mission!
So time to get dressed, get a note book and pen, list a few items then do the planner for a much more organised week!
Here's to the bank holiday rain :beer:14 months to gain control of life

 LIGHTBULB MOMENT FOR A CHALLENGE
I need to have £450 over at the end of every month starting the 1st of September! So what does this mean...
From the first of September, on the last day of the month I need to have £450 left - not from credit, not from overdrafts - left over from saving on food, making any money from selling things, from overtime etc. £450 to go straight to the debts.
By giving myself a challenge I think it will be the only way I am going to make a good dent in the debt which at the end of the day is why I am here.
I am quiet excited about this challenge I am setting myself, it does seem a lot I admit but actually when I think about it, it is possible because by making changes and being smart I am able to do this.
So 1st of September the £450 challenge begins!!!!14 months to gain control of life
