    That's just Birmingham isn't it:D

It's a ploy to keep the number of cyclists down, seems to be working splendidly. :T

I used to get that all the time. Must overtake the lorry no matter what the risks are. But the gutters and hatched areas need care.
it always gives me a warm feeling inside when I see some idiot plow though hatched off areas motorways, though all that debris i hope the !!!!!!s get a puncture.

Never had a puncture driving along country roads, I've had several shortly after a visit to the local tip/recycling centre.

A relative pulled in to let an emergency vehicle through on a main road and suffered from a puncture and bent wheel hub.

To be fair, that sounds to me like they panicked and hit the kerb at a funny angle.

People do some really silly things when they see emergency services vehicles, some pull over in locations where they can't pass, some slow right down until they find somewhere and some even try to stop them "queue jumping".
Best thing to do is always maintain a decent speed and pull over as soon as your in a location that will allow them to pass.

On the other hand I swear someone is driving about in a van, with a mate throwing nails out the back.

Stay away from the kerb as much as possible (this is a collection point for debris).
