The over use of the word stylish, gorgeous etc when in fact they mean so hideous no-one would buy itproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

...people saying or writing "defiantly" when they mean "definitely"...
This is quite commonly blamed on auto-correct, whereas actually it is caused by their mistake of trying to spell definitely as definately, which is why autocorrect steps in. So it's still their fault, not the fault of auto-correct. :rotfl:Thanks to all who post constructively.

Competitions in particular seem to especially suffer from this sort of hyperbole. The classic example is the number of prizes that are claimed to be "VIP", when all that means in reality - when you check the terms and conditions - is a glass of sparkling wine when you arrive. :rotfl:Thanks to all who post constructively.

Current mag daily - "Win your Tech Stationary Accessories". I expect they are stationary - a pen won't move by itself - but I think they mean stationery! :mad:Back after a very long break!0

Well, what if the person entering isn't a student, isn't a graduate and isn't employed?
(and while we're at it, make your mind up over how you want to spell Ayia Napa) :rotfl:Thanks to all who post constructively.

I would have expected that a magazine such as Shortlist would proof read their competitions. This one states "Win a Samsung plasma TV with The Quiet Ones" but then asks " What inspired The Quite Ones?"
Yes, I had noticed that. I went quite quiet when I saw that... :rotfl:Thanks to all who post constructively.
