I have many, many gripes about abuses of the English language, but my current one is people who say slither when they mean sliver. You CANNOT have a slither of cake, you faux dieter!! You may think saying slither means you are avoiding th-fronting, but it's a completely different word, a completely different part of speech and, most importantly, has a completely different meaning to sliver!! (It's also kinda gross and makes me wonder what the hell is in that cake!!)0 -

I suspected it was those sort of pellets, but wondered if they were the edible ones that rabbits produce - are we to infer that we're now chewing on our own business as it were? Not that I mind - pedant and proud!!
