OK, so rant of the day for today is:
Win a designer-inspired bag.

Surely all products have a designer, no matter how lowly they might be? :rotfl:

It might be on the clearance shelf at Primark, but somebody still designed it!

Great idea for a thread. I can't think of anything to add now, but I do tend to be rather pedantic, so I thought I would like to be one of the first to join your "club".

My particular favourite is 'architect designed' in estate agent blurb :)

Oh, and 'pan fried' on menus (although I suppose if things were cooked in a deep-fat fryer, would that technically be classed as a pan?)

my pet peeve is the number of people who massacre the English language such as "we was" & "more better" alos not saying the Ts in words "so more better" is said as "more be'er" & "could of" instead of could have (or its contraction could've)

If this was to be a place for multiple pedants to gather, it would be plural and possessive.

...worth ££££ - a thing is only ever worth what you can get someone else to pay for it, intrinsically most things have no value at all...

I was just about to say that!!! The ones that get me are eg. a crappy handbag "worth" £500... no it's not worth £500 that's just what you try and sell it for!!!

Other things that irk me -
"Win a free xxxxx" - of course it's free if you win it, otherwise you would be buying it!
and in the wider world, people saying or writing "brought" when they mean "bought", "defiantly" when they mean "definitely", "ect" when they mean "etc"

People who miss out parts of the word, like ibuprofen being called ibufren.

Also, Americans calling it St Patty's Day makes me want to claw my eyes out.
Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!

This is true, but I wasn't the one to say Pedant's Corner.

I think places like Primark don't always design their products they take inspiration from high end designers. I work at the head office of a retailer and we take inspiration from other retailers. not sure but maybe that's what they mean xx
:j First prizes back into comping after a break - romantic break to 2 to Venice/ Paris or Rome with romantic trip and a 42 inch TV and blu Ray amazing !

Thank you all so much and good luck guys and girls xxxxxx
