Travel insurance auto renewal

Hi
My travel insurance auto renewed today, I only found out when I checked my credit card statement.
Do I have a right to cancel? Does the 14-day cooling off period apply?
Before today I didn't receive any letters/emails saying it was going to auto renew.
Thanks

Yes you have a 14 day cooling off period, though they can charge a cancellation even in the cooling off.
They must write to you before renewing, the problem is that many people just bin renewals assuming theyre junk mail without looking. If you believe they didnt then raise a complaint and they'll inform you when they contacted you or apologise if they failed in that obligation0 -
I have just been stung by this too, but only realised when I got my credit card statement so outside the cooling off period. Also the insurance is invalid anyway as there are medical conditions. I have just logged a complaint but does any one know where I stand with this?0

Unless you can prove they didn't notify you of the renewal as set out in the original ts + cs the best you can hope for is a goodwill gesture. (You will have agreed to auto renew and to notifying changes in health to the insurer when first taking out the policy)I have just been stung by this too, but only realised when I got my credit card statement so outside the cooling off period.
