What is the relevance of this statement?0 -
I do wish posters would comment on the issue being discussed rather than slagging off individuals who they don't agree with. Most unedifying.
Most posters have actually commented on the issue.......which is that the OP vastly overreacted to a situation they found themselves in. To call for people to avoid a bank just because there was a blip in an application process is simply hilarious.
Not sure in what sense the majority of financial institutions are hopeless? How would you suggest the country (and the world) would turn without financial institutions?Because they are hopeless, like the majority of financial institutions.0 -
Lots of FD defenders (of which I am one) on here.
That said, I can fully empathise with the OP's situation, having missed out out on £25 through little fault of her own, and only having negative experiences of FD's customer service. We can't expect her to say this is uncharacteristic of FD if she hasn't had any other experiences - though we could expect her to not criticise the whole bank because of this first, single experience.
To that end, I am another who's enjoyed good service from FD. I would certainly rather speak to them than any other bank.0 -

I'm thinking administratively. Dealing with these people on the phone, by email or in writing is often very difficult.0 -
Ohh, so you're angry you didn't get £25?
You can still switch and get £100.
Life is way to short after all eh?0 -
OP - Apply and (if accepted) log the issue as complaint then they will probably credit you the extra £25 as a goodwill gesture.
Problem solved...

did you read my third sentence? A question goes unanswered by the OP.
Is FD really a carp bank as the OP claims, or is it all due to user error? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

I wouldn't use FD for my regular current account as I prefer banks that pay interest and cashback, but I do have an account there because of their Regular Savings account. I do use the current account irregularly as it's the only one of my accounts for which I still have a cheque book, and although their online banking isn't pretty, it does everything that needs doing. I don't care for their telephone support and have called them less than half a dozen times in the 9 years I have had an account with them.
Calling them a "bloody nightmare" is an emotional outburst and has no justification.
I can only speak from my time with them. Ridiculous or not that is how I found them. And again I repeat I personally found them a bloody nightmare.
I could elaborate but my significant half is calling me for dinner.0
