JSA Final Payment

Hi all,

I start work on Monday and sign of JSA tomorrow. However, I desperately need new shoes, shirt, tie and money to travel to work on Monday morning. I don't want to borrow any money from them and I have no-one else to ask, I was just wondering whether, if I asked politely, if they would release my final payment as a faster payment so I can go and get everything I need over the weekend.

Any advice appreciated.

If you phone the national benefit number they will do this for you over the phone. Is it a signing day tomorrow?

You'll have to attend to sign on anyway. Ask if they can help

They may do it the office for you, in mine we would say ring the number. There is also something called Flexible support fund - which can be used for the it items you mentioned, unless you're on the work programme. It does not have to be paid back
