Cancelling easyjet flight to Russia
[Deleted User]
We've booked a holiday flying with easyjet in November to Moscow. The political situation out there only seems to be getting worse and we've decided it's not worth the risk.
However, as travel to Russia isn't advised against yet, there will be £40 per person, per flight cost to amend it to another destination. This seems ridiculous given the circumstances and it's not like we want to cancel completely.
I plan on complaining and challenging this, any advice?
Thanks

You cancel. You pay.0 -
How much would it be if you booked a cheap ticket on BA?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Why are you worried ??0

Did you flights cost more than £40? I'm assuming you can only change to another flight at the same price as your original by paying this £40. Just wondering if it's worth it?
Perhaps try to think whether the airline might cancel the flight (due to low uptake), in which case you would get your money back. Or perhaps if the government advises against travel you could claim your insurance....if you have insurance already, and if your excess is lower than the flight price.0 -
OP.
You are not going to be able to cancel your flight and get a refund, or a free transfer to another flight, unless the foreign office state so on their website. Moscow is far enough away from any issue with Ukraine. See link below for details.

It is still4 months until you go, it could all be over by then and you have no issues. Otherwise, the situation will be monitored daily and advisories given.
I don't blame Easyjet charging TBH, as far as anyone else is concerned, there is no real issue with Moscow, apart from it being Bloody expensive.0 -

Well that's a good enough reason not to choose to go there.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

I don't see what grounds of complaint you have. That's their T&Cs. It's not their fault that you don't want to go.0 -
