Hi, As the title says I am in credit to the value of £400 accrued since last November. I pay £120 per month which I am happy with as next winter might be not so mild as the last one.
Am I entitled to this money back now ( or at least £300 ) and leave a £100 credit or do I have to wait until my annual review in November by which time I will be approx. £700 in credit as will have had my warm home payment credited to my account by then also.
Also had my 40 year old boiler replaced this year with a much more economical one so bills should be less.
Thank you

Hello!
Funnily enough, I was going to ask a similar question. SSE have just gave me my annual statement to say that I am £300 in credit but because of the recent ruling they have to give it back to me. The chap said that by law I can only be £5 in credit in total. Last year I built it up for Winter and I wanted to do it again for this Winter too. They have also reduced my DD again too apparently. I think that I will put it in an online account for Winter instead for peace of mind as I worry about getting into debt again."Ye cannae change the laws o' physics"

I went down the route of lowering my monthly DD rather than try to ask for my credit back. I went from £97 pm to £67. All done online so it was stress free.0

If you're in credit with Scottish Power at the time of your next review, then please have a look at my previous thread.

I did indeed, that was paid automatically. The credit was £8 extra. I was also given a £10 goodwill payment because I had to chase them up!0 -
We discovered we are in credit with SP as well for £670!
It is online billing which my other half deals with and we pay by direct debit. Our fixed price deal ended in January so it appears that after that we went onto a standard tariff and although we kept paying every month and the meters were read some bizarre "billing error" occurred and we were in credit because they had no meter readings. We phoned them to sort it out and the woman said it wasn't a common problem but it does happen. So although our meters had just been read they had no record of it and I had to give current readings over the phone. Now we've moved to a new fixed deal which was cheaper than our old one and have been told it will take 10-14 days to get the refund. I'm not sure why it takes that length of time for the refund.0
