Refund on re-issued CC

Hello there,
I have bought an item from Pixmania (will never buy from them anymore, but that's another story). I will demand a refund for the amount debited on my natiinwide CC. The problem is that I had to request a re-issue of my card due to suspecting the details being compromised. Does anyone know will the credit be done on the new account, or the retailer will try to do that on the closed account without success?
Any comments are welcome.

    It will not matter.
Your old card number will be linked to your new so you have nothing to worry.

Request a personal cheque from the company....the refund method does not have to be the same as the method paid....

companies like to let you think that as it helps them balance their books more easily...

if you bought something and then 6 months later it broke, but you had closed your credit card what would they do then? theyve got not choice...

so tell them that your in the process of closing your credit card and demand a cheque...

I think you will find this to be incorrect.
Refunding the card the payment comes from guarantees the retailer that the right person gets the refund.
If the credit card is closed you have to ask the card company for a cheque.

After sending out the query as a secure message, here is what Nationwide CS replied:
    Dear Mr sofa_surfer,
Thank you for your recent enquiry,
I can confirm that the refund will automatically be transferred to your new card number.
