My daughter dropped her IPod Touch5, 3 weeks after getting it for Xmas. Screen cracked but it still works.

I enquired at several places about a new screen and was quoted approx £100 - £150

Just out of curiosity yesterday we went into an Apple shop to ask how much they would charge. The guy said they don't replace broken screens as the IPod 5 screen is glued in and replacing it would invalidate any warranty. He said they would replace it with a brand new one for £79 !

Will be going i next week to get it replaced.

I love apple - they've replaced my laptop lid 3 times as it keeps cracking down the hinge. Even though it's out of warranty, they don't charge me because it's a known fault with my model. To top it off, they replaced my battery for free as it failed their diagnostic test (ran at 79.9% rather than 80%+) rather than charging me £100 for a new one.

They definitely know how to make you come back! Best customer service I've ever had!

Well, went today for the replacement.

It wasn't £79, it was £75 ! Even better
