Because this is exactly what we'd expect to see from someone trying to either bring in business or con people. It's incredibly common for people to use posts like this, on forums like this, to draw in people for purposes other than those claimed.
I can see your point but I am really not trying to con anyone or draw in business. I now work in marketing and run an "outdoors" magazine, I no longer work in Financial services, but I just felt my knowledge was going to waste so I would rather use it to help people.
If no one wants to make use of my knowledge on MSE or through any other channel then thats fine, no loss to me, but the offer is there.0 -

Well that really depends what you have provided - we don't know that so it is possible that people may lose money if it is bad advice.
You seem to have plenty of time to post on your own thread, why not use some of that time to post on some where people are asking for advice?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

I haven't and won't be giving advice, just explaining the investment, if someone wants me to.
I don't intend to advise people if they were mis sold or not, I don't believe you can regulate a conversation so it would be up to the individual to decide if they wanted to complain. I am not offering to complain for them or win them compensation, just explain the investment.
There are a lot of threads to reason MSE, you would need a lot of time on ur hands to go through them all and comment properly, as opposed to checking just one thread and comment, I am sure when I have a less busy day I will make comments on other threads too.Currently I have an inbox of people wanting their investments explaining so I am going to sort that out first and I would hate to promise and not deliver.0 -
If that is the case it seems bizarre that not a single person has responded with an investment they wanted explaining on this particular thread that has now been running for two weeks.lynneedwards wrote: »Currently I have an inbox of people wanting their investments explaining so I am going to sort that out first
Meanwhile all manner of conversations about savings and investments have been merrily going on as normal on this board amongst both newbies and regulars, with over 400 threads being contributed to in that time, let alone the ones on the ISA sub-board.0 -

I was on holiday last week so I didn't log in, but twitter has been a great place for people to get in touch. I think a lot of the emails have come from that as well as other referrals.0 -
