    Hi

I'll move this over to the ebay (& other auctions) board.

Authough it's focused on ebay, I think the most people who could answer your question post there.icon7.gif

    Bit of a myth really.

Most gov depts have firms who either dispose of their stuff via their normal auctions (eg cars from the MOD used to be handled by BCA), or pay a % of the original price and then sell it on.

The people who make the most money out of 'government auctions' are those people who 'sell' the information to you about the auctions. Bit like the lottery - the people who make the money there are the ones selling the 'lucky numbers' video/books and 'guaranteed winning number picking software'.

If you want to investigate government disposals further - call the relevant gov dept and ask to speak to the 'disposals' section. (Be careful if you ring MI5 or MI6 as 'disposals may have a different interpretation!!!):rotfl:

Don't pay any money for info, all you'll get is a list of auctioneers around the country who sometimes get a tiny little bit of stuff to sell.
