Assuming you use Windows (and it's still available), Windows Movie Maker is free and will output in AVI format for burning to disc using Nero (or similar).
You can add titles before/after, music (if you want) and various other bits and pieces.

After you download and run the "installer" you can then choose which part(s) of Essentials to download.

    What 'other stuff'?

Windows Media Player is included with most versions of Windows.

Movie maker does not come on its own,I HAVE to download other software with it,which I DO NOT want, its part of the 'Windows Essential',but not essential to me.

I have to install Microsoft 'One drive, and Outlook Connector,or it will not download,
I do not want them on my pc.

Windows MM comes with "Essentials" but on the splash screen you untick the progs, including One Drive you don't want and just go with MM. Unless you're running something not windows. Linky below but don't forget to untick all except MM

All very well, but after unticking those,it says it will update One Drive and Outlook Connector, which I do not have,so,it will install them again!!!!! I do not want them.
I am running windows 7.I really need a 'stand alone' bit of software.

Good business. It's strange you had to go through those hoops as I didn't. Still as long as you have something.
