HP Pavilion dv9292 Laptop Problems

I was wondering if people could help me out and make and tell me if I'm been unreasonable.

I bought a the said laptop a few months ago and I have been having problems where on occasion the screen doesn't turn on when starting up or coming out of sleep/hibernation. Such as my youTube clip shows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEjQ6KKCo9E

I have contacted HP followed their steps of updating bios and drivers and finally sent it to them for repair. I got it back yesterday with a sheet saying it passed all the checks and they replaced the hard drive as it was noisy (the new one is just as noisy)

Anyway I'm still having this problem been going on since I bought it from Woolwoths online. I'm now completely fed up, in the past it has taken me up to about 3 hours of turning the laptop off and on to get it to work.

hold down the power button for 6 seconds instead of removing the battery.

    try deleting hiberfil.sys

this happens on many laptops, turning off hibernation is the easiest way around it.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

I do hold it off for 6 seconds it just that taking the battery and leaving it for several minutes seams to be the best way to get it started again if I'm lucky. It also do not only happen in hibernation, It does it hit and miss when ever I turn it off even when I shut it down properly and come back to it the next day, restarting the laptop will also most likely trigger the problem.

There should be no difference between holding off button for 6 secs and removing the battery.

I would turn off power saving in bios and control panel, it's not worth the hassle and risk of corrupting your HD.

  • Hello boys. I have one note like this, and I know others that have it. In all cases the problem is the same. The problem in it is with one capacitor that was used by HP and was poor dimentioned. I don´t know which is the capacitor but good technical assistance can locate and replace it. This is a tipical case of recall! There are no matter to adjust it! Only way is replace the motherboard or the capacitor.
