Jackie We used to go crabbing with the kids all the time. We'd try and find somewhere with a little slope into the water. When the buckets were full, we'd empty them out at the top and watch them race back into the waterI still have the crablines.
Mr tru's boss is back earlier than expected, so he's got his usual day off tomorrow. We're trying to choose somewhere to go for the day out but can't agree on anywhere
While I was out yesterday, I walked across the green instead of going round the path. It was lovely, the grass had just been cut and it smelt fab. I kicked up the grass cuttings as I walked along – must've looked a bit ridiculousA few minutes later, I started sneezing and my nose wouldn't stop running all day. I don't usually get hayfever (only once or twice before), I wonder if the pollen count was particularly high yesterday?
I woke up during the night and had to put the quilt on. We've been just using the cover lately but it felt cold last night. I threw the quilt on top of it, I wasn't going to start making the bed at 2amI woke up with the cover wrapped around me, lol. I suppose I'll have to put it on properly today, it's my most hated job – I'm too short to manage a king size quilt cover and I end up in a tangle

Mr tru is going to Kingsholm tonight for the Sevens, peace and quiet for me! I've already planned the crochet, telly and chocolate

Morning All
Hilstep - Great to have you still with us, don't you plan on going anywhere!
Hugs to those not feeling so good, tru you probably disturbed all the pollen hiding in the grass! Hope you're feeling better now. I suffer from hayfever but haven't been very bothered by it this year, wondering if it's to do with moving into a town instead of being out in the sticks.
Went to friends who live on the Loch side yesterday with my Cousin and her husband and we all went for a swim in the Loch, it wasn't as cold as the sea the day before and I felt great after, it was so lovely and natural, I think I will have to try that again!
Made chorizo risotto for tea yesterday which went down well, DD was in too late so she had scrambled egg on toast. Visitors are going home today and I am going out with friends so will probably eat out, DD can sort herself when she gets in - she has managed for the past month while I have been away!
Weather not too good again so washing will probably have to go on the airers in the conservatory again. Holiday washing up to date ready to pack again for Monday.
Hope you all have a good day. Take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Bright blue sky and sunshine, forecast to be hot. Watered plants and greenhouse.
DH up and gone to work early but not stupid early.
Dinner last night was chicken in white wine, cream and mushroom sauce, mash, cauli, carrots, green beans and peas – was delicious – clean plates all round, ice cream for dessert. Tonight will be hm lasagne with new potatoes and side salad (although I’m going to do the food shopping shortly and if I find something I’d rather serve then we’ll have that instead). Spent some time yesterday looking up recipes and did a menu plan for next week – so hoping food shopping today won’t be too expensive – have been spending way too much over the last few weeks so really need to get a grip.
Once I’ve done the food shopping, I’ll be tackling the ironing mountain – and then packing as we’re going away in the morning but it’s not too far and not on busy roads, so will go at our leisure.
Yesterday I was checking through the finances and noticed that one of the 0% deals ends in Sept, so will be speaking to companies to see if I can get a balance transfer at 0% - I know I had an offer on 1 card but don’t know if it’s still available – I’ll ring them later.
Hoping I can get stuck in to what needs doing so I can sit out in the sun for an hour later – I’ve been making a conscious effort to just get half to a full hour sitting out later on in the afternoons when I not at work – I don’t ever get time before 4pm – so sun not so fierce, but just makes me relax and chill – at least for a little while!
Take care in the sun and warm weather, remember the sunscreen x
Keep safe and well x

Good Morning everyone, another sunny day here and due to top 25 degrees again, the only plus side of this is that we have ripe tomatoes in the greenhouse!!! Thanks for asking HESTER, it's not comfy for poor old Docky but not impossibly hot for him now either, he's eager for his afternoon walk instead of hiding so he doesn't have to go!!!
Home day today and catching up on the housework also some washing to do so I will potter my way through all the chores. YS scallops from M&S for lunch today, still not cheap but affordable as a real treat and we'll have them with a completely homegrown salad too, nice!!
Successful forage into the city yesterday and managed to get some reasonably priced pamper treats for DD who is coming back from Zambia on Monday and bargain of the day was a lovely pair of John Rocha pyjamas in soft dove grey for £9 in the sale, reduced from £30 so a 'find'!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely day, gentle hugs to all our poorlies, particularly the itchy ones, I find that so miserable, poor you DONNY GAL, hope you all feel much better soon, Lyn xxx.0 -

Afternoon all
I only worked half the day in the end, the place is like a building site & some muppet kept setting the fire alarm off, I'm beggered if I standing in the car park for hours at a time.
I bought hubby some pork chops for his dinner & a couple of huge mushrooms that I'll stuff with ham, cheese & breadcrumbs for my meal.
Payday today & I've treated myself to another dress pattern, I also had a mooch around the CS & found 20 packs of crepe paper, 10 each black & orange my DD's will love it for Halloween.
Time I got my last bit of decluttering done.

Would calamine lotion help with the itch and reduce scratching etc?
DD has just kindly given me a white (now yellowish) top in the touching faith that I can sort it out. It is in a vanish and hot water solution till later when it can get another rinse soak and wash.
Just had a caller for DH to tell us that one of his friends has just been found dead early this morning. We only saw him yesterday and he seemed fine so it has been a real shock for us all. DH has hospital appointment tomorrow to see if he needs an op to deal with nerve damage in his face so fingers crossed.
Going out to take dd to skin clinic later and have pork chops and gravy or fishcakes (YS) with green veg and low fat home made chips for tonight.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"
