Primer and powder recommendations?

I've started using my Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation again, which I absolutely love. It is light and truly looks like skin, just better and has a lovely fresh finish. It is the holy grail of foundation in that sense. BUT it tends to get shiny quite quickly, despite my skin not being oily.
So, can anyone recommend a primer and/or powder that will help curb that shine but leave the lovely natural fresh look? Matt would completely ruin it. Also something that feels light, as the foundation is so light you can't feel you are wearing any

Hi OP,
I used to use a primer by Laura Mercier (I say used to as it's quite pricey and I've switched to a BB cream where I don't really need a primer).
They do 3 types I believe and one of them is for oily skin. I found they were the best primer around and I'd tried loads (I would avoid Boot No7 for oily skin, feels really chalky).
Might be worth seeing if you can get some samples before splashing out on a full size?
From what I remember, the primer was around £27 but used to last ages as you only need a little bit.
Hope that helps, happy shopping0 -

I imagine oily skin primer would end up being bad for my skin?If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
As I have rather oily skin, I can't comment on primers (maybe smashbox photofinish, as that's worked well for me in the past). As for powders, I can recommend: Mac 's studio careblend, invisible pro-set powder or mineralize skinfinish natural. All three are very light on the skin and leave a very natural finish. The invisible pro set is a very finely milled powder that comes in a large tub so it lasts for ages. Some people may recommend a silica based powder (like the ELF HD) but they can look chalky on the skin.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

Expensive but totally brilliant Nars Reflecting Powder Loose. It is white in the pot but you will not look white, just a soft glow. It has seaweed in it no talc so will not settle into pores or lines.
Primer have a look at Smashbox, they are in larger Boots.0 -

I love Mac products, the powder glides on really well, but I haven't tried the primer, sorry. Be interested to know what its like though!Chaos is inherent in all compounded things. Strive on with diligence. -Buddha0

I have similar skin type and I don't feel Urban Decay primer potion lived up to its promises AT ALL. Very disappointed. Will be trying Smashbox next.0
