Car insurance advice

Options
Hi guys. really need some help with this.

Long story short:

I have a car insured until 7th August(10 month accelerator NCD) which is off the road, safe in my garage and am selling it on.

I pick up a new car tomorrow(July 30th).

When I'm getting insurance quotes for new car, can I put 1 year's NCD?

I haven't had renewal letter from elephant yet.

If I cancel the policy 7 days early, will I lose the NCD going into a new policy?

Thanks

You can only count it as 1 years NCD if you only insurer it from the 7th and then you cannot be using the NCD on the other vehicle.

Whats happening to your old car? Assuming you are trading it in the just do a change of vehicle for the last 7 days

Or, if you want to keep the old one insured until the 7th ask your insurer if they'll cover both for a few days - many insurers will do this for not very much money if you have an overlap between cars.

Or transfer the policy to the new car and look into a short term fire and theft only policy for the one in the garage.
