I am new to this forum but like some ideas. I have 20k in a low interest Isa. I want to invest it with the biggest retune. I will not need to touch it within the next 5 yrs. bonds? investment plans? nisas ? pension? all ideas welcome within reason thanks

You'll need to give more info about your own circumstances to get any meaningful response. Are you working? If so, what rate of tax do you pay? Do have any pensions currently? Do you have any other investments or savings? Etc...0

hi, thanks for replying. I have a property I rent out no mortgage and I do casual work, 60k savings in isas, bonds, investment plans, an old pension in the coop, low tax payer. dose this help0

That's quite a mixed bag and might benefit from an overall review by an IFA given the variety of investments you hold. Without knowing the exact details it would be difficult for anyone on a forum to give an informed opinion, as you probably need to look for a balanced asset allocation over your entire range of investments.
What I would say is that you'd benefit by investing in a pension, seeing as the government will gross up your contributions by 20% (to a limit), but 5 years may be too short a timeframe for stock market investment.0 -
