parked over white line onto car park edge PPS parking charge

Would really appreciate advice.
Today I parked over the white line in a PPS car park and received a parking charge notice for £100.
This was not bad parking but what I thought was sensible as the adjacent parked car was parked on the line and with narrow spaces he would have been unable to open his door if I had parked within my narrow space so thought it logical to park slightly over into the edge of the car park that was not a space.
Will follow the appeal process but I do not want to pay as I believe it is unethical and would be prepared to go to court. I have photos to verify.

Ok first of all is this in a railway car park at all?
Read newbie thread and follow advice there to wait for a NTK
As this is PPS and they operate in railway car parks their PCN may look slightly different from normal ones.
When you get the NTK post back here and in the meanwhile do a search for Permier Parking Solutins in the forum search and read up about them while you wait.

Didcot railway car park, opposite the station?

    Or Hull Docks?

    If not then where?

You will need to read PPS threads posted recently (e.g. search the forum for Didcot' and read xxdaix's thread for starters as it has a POPLA appeal on it, written especially. And tell us which car park. We need to help you win as PPS have won at POPLA a couple of times with a new GPEOL statement we can help you shoot down. If you don't shoot it down at POPLA stage you could lose.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
