Also, when you send bank statements to your OR do they sit and question all the transactions? I've nothing to hide just trying to get a picture of how detailed this is going to be!

You tend to just cast an eye over them, looking for large purchases or anything unusual.

I couldn't get access to my current account as it was frozen and couldn't print them out. I also didn't have account numbers for all my old accounts because they were all left in a house that got repossessed. OR wasn't bothered, it just means they have to work a little harder to get the info they need.

At my hearing (Manchester County Court) they asked me to come in before the date of my BR to see the court clerk who was to check my forms. Check if your court offer that service.

Well then all the IPs I know must not be very experienced with their 30 years experience as they don't recommend opening before being made bankrupt.

Barclays and Co-op are the only mainstream High Street banks offering free accounts that are known to be BR tolerant.
The co-op will allow a basic account opened before BR to be kept, otherwise you will have to wait until AD.
Barclays will tolerate BR's and my OR told Barclays they had no interest in the account, as far as I am aware - it was not 'frozen' or if it was, it was so briefly I didn't even notice. Of course anyone who has Barclays as a creditor, should be aware of offsetting prior to the BR date.

Your IP's may be experienced in dealing with BR's - but may not have the practical experience posters on this board have. The theory and the practice can be very different. ;)

Yes you can, but do not put any personal details in it. Just be honest, that is all you can be in that section.

ok so here is what I have put so far-not sure if I need more financial detail or not?
Please be kind in your criticism Im rubbish at this type of thing ;-)

    Dec 2011
My debt began to mount up rapidly when my ex partner and I moved to London with our young child in Dec 2011. Up unil this point my credit cards and overdraft were not used nearly as regularly.
My partner was irresponsible with his spending and did not contribute adequately towards the house expenses and failed to provide me with money to buy food, nappies and formula etc resulting in me having to use my credit cards and overdraft to cover living costs and a lot of bills including a full years council tax.
I was however able to continue making my monthly payments. Unfortunately my relationship broke down and by the time I left London in July 2011 I had considerable debt to continue paying off.

    March 2012
When I moved to Lancashire for a new job, (March ’12) I consolidated my debt.
I funded my new career move of becoming a music practitioner with a credit card, buying the musical instruments and books. At this point I was still working full time I had no reason to believe the debt was unpayable and continued to meet all the payment dates.

    May? 2013
My current partner and I moved into our new house, however we had to pay 6 months rent in advance in addition to the standard deposit. I funded some of this with credit cards but as I was still in full time employment it was not something I believed I would have had a problem repaying and was still making all my payments on time every month.

    Sept 2013
After starting to suffer an illness-now diagnosed as Myasthenia Gravis-I lost my job due to the amount of absences I was forced to take.
With no income I had to use my overdraft more and more to continue paying my debts until I was totally unable to do so.
I sought advice from National Debtline and followed what was suggested and started contacting my creditors.
I was able to come to a payment agreement with some companies but not all, in particular not HMRC.
