I purchased a pair of designer eyeglasses at This online store. No prescription on the lens. Just frames
finestglasses (dot) com
Same day I received it I tried it on and noticed I made a mistake and got a wrong size. When i contacted the seller to see if I can get a refund or exchange they said no cause it's listed on their site policy no returns or exchanges on designer glasses
finestglasses/help/return-policy-i-25a2a07ed7794ac8a9f01e9e259fb0d0.html
no 12.
Hasn't been 14 days but do I have any consumer rights here or no i should of just read more carefully before buying?

Yes you should have read more carefully! The company is based in California and therefore UK consumer law does not apply. The grammar on the site is pretty bad too, something you wouldn't expect from a reputable seller. Quite possible that your designer frames are actually fakes.0

They are very clear that they are US based, but I echo the concern over the website. This is from the front page:
"Over fifteen years, the founder of FinestGlasses.com has dedicated innovating new products and ideas in eyewear industry. FinestGlasses.com has owned nine US patient and technology. One of company owned patent - magnetic clip-on technology, has been greatest successful in the eyewear market."
Does not inspire confidence and I expect regrettably that your money has gone.0 -
Thanks for your responses. Do you recommend i should contact my bank and let them know the situation to see if they might work it out?0

You made a mistake and bought the wrong size.
Not sure what you think your bank will be able to do... after all, the company has delivered what you asked for.0 -
I mean as a dispute saying the policy about no returns/ exchanges for designer glasses was never shown at checkout. Kind of hidden0

Would your bank know the ins and outs of website construction for California based sites?I mean as a dispute saying the policy about no returns/ exchanges for designer glasses was never shown at checkout. Kind of hidden
They would not be interested in taking any action whatsoever. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

So hidden it took me 5 seconds to find it on their site!
Never heard of a law that said a website had to clearly show their returns policy at checkout, but your only hope is if there is a law like this in California.
Sorry, but you really are clutching at straws.0 -
Just sell them on, on Ebay or somewhere, cut your losses and move on.
You are not going to get anywhere really, unless you fly out there and see them in person.
Its the problem of buying online from a company you don't know from Adam and are 1000's of miles away. Surprised you haven't been whacked with HMRC duty and admin charges , as well as currency charges.0
