Handed in notice - holiday entitlement

Help please! I have 29 days annual leave this year in total. I have handed in my notice today and will finish on the last day of August.

As part of my contract I have to take 3 days leave over xmas/new year. I am trying to work out what holiday I should have left before I leave.

Do I include the 3 days over xmas as part of the pro-rata calculations or not? What is correct/the done thing?

Thanks!

:-)

No as you will never get those days. I work it out at just under 19.5 days so will probably be increased to 19.5 days so less any days you have taken and that gives you what is left.

The employer can either let you take these during notice or pay you for them at the end.

Thanks so as I work it out, its:
    29-3 days = 26.

    26/12 = 2.17

    2.17 x 8 months worked = 17.3 days

    Does this sound correct?

    Thanks

How can it be right when I said 19.5 days? lol

You are not going to use the three days at Christmas so these come back to you so its 29/12*8 which is 19.33.

    Whats the holiday year?

Does the 29 include Bank holidays?

Holidays take up to the time you leave

I wondered where you had got 19.3 from! haha

I assumed you meant loose the 3 days at xmas. This definitely sounds better to me!

Holiday year runs 1st Jan to last day of Dec this year. 29 days doesn't include Bank holidays.

So in total do you get 29 days or 37 inc bank hols?
